Room descriptions

Rooms – available for hire to community groups, companies & private individuals at very competitive rates:

The River Room: overlooking the river on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible. Seats up to 50 people for presentations or public meetings, set up theatre style, or 80 standing up.   Floor Plan here

The Artists’ Room: Immediately above the River Room, this lovely room offers views up and down the river and over to Dinedor Hill & beyond, with superb quality of light.   Our fire risk assessment limits the number of people using this room to 30 as it is accessed by two flights of quite steep stairs. This is a useful room for training events, all day meetings or small exercise classes.  Floor Plan here

The Reading Room: Again on the first floor and subject to restrictions on numbers, this north facing room can be used for breakout sessions, classes, arts & crafts, etc.

Office/Meeting Room: A first floor meeting room for up to 8-10 people.

Office: A small office for private work – great views along the riverbank and Castle Green.

Kitchen: A large working kitchen fitted to commercial standards is available in conjunction with events booked in the Pavilion or on Castle Green.

Outdoor Event Kit: The friends of Castle Green also owns a wide variety of outdoor event kit, including gazebos, café tables and chairs, folding tables, water boilers, soup tureens, cables etc. These are available for hire.

Internet Access: Internet access is available in the River Room and Artists’ Room at £5 for each month you use the building. We have an A3 printer available, please contact for costs and access.

Tea and Coffee: Refreshments can be provided at a charge of £1 per head. Alternatvely, you may make your own hot drinks with our facilities.
