Christmas Fayre 2010

The Christmas Fayre on Castle Green took place on Sunday, 28th November. It was -8C and the stalls and marquee were set up in record time on rock hard ground by a heavily muffled crew. Gradually the stallholders arrived and decorated the stalls. The sun came out, hordes of people arrived and continue to visit the Green all day, right up to closing time at 4.00pm as the sun went down.

Our very grateful thanks to all who came, whether stallholder, sponsor, working team member or visitor. We had a tremendous result on the day; the bottle stall had a great selection of prizes with an epic hamper - not surprising that all the tickets went an hour before the close. The cafe was manned by an all star male cast, serving soup, sandwiches, cakes and warming mulled wine al day. The bands were in good voice and the stallholders went home with significantly less than they brought and/or future orders.

Have a look at some of the pictures to get a flavour of the event and at the stallholder list if you missed the day.
